HA NOI (Biz Hub) —PVcomBank's managing board has officially appointed Nguyen Thien Bao as the bank's chief executive officer (CEO) as of January.

Born in 1971, Bao earned his bachelor's degree in economics in Viet Nam and an MBA degree from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.

Bao was a member of the managing board and the CEO of PetroVietnam Finance Corporation (PVFC) until April 2010, after which the finance firm was merged with Western Bank to create PVcomBank last September under the State Bank of Viet Nam's permission.

Currently, PVcomBank's executive board has 12 members.

Based at No 22 Ngo Quyen street, Hoan Kiem district, Ha Noi, PVcomBank has 101 branches nationwide. The bank has chartered capital of VND9 trillion (US$428.5million) and total assets of VND100 trillion ($4.76billion). — VNS
