Japanese insurer inks deal with HDBank

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Japan's Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Viet Nam and HDBank on May 11 signed an exclusive bancassurance partnership agreement.

For 10 years starting in July Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam will be the sole insurer selling life insurance products and adding health insurance riders through HDBank's national network.

It will in turn offer HDBank's products and services to its own customers.

Besides, when paying their insurance premiums, Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam customers can use HDBank's bill-payment service at more than 220 transaction points nationwide and through e-banking to be set up soon.

HDBank and Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam pledged to help each other develop sustainable strategic co-operation between the banking and insurance sectors.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tran Dinh Quan, general director of Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam, said the agreement was part of the company's strategy to diversify its distribution channel and business activities.

Nguyen Huu Dang, general manager of HDBank, said the co-operation with Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam showed a commitment to providing Japanese-quality financial services and products to Vietnamese customers and dynamism in adapting to changes in the economic situation. — VNS
