CIMB Bank Vietnam (CIMB) on Monday officially launched the CIMB REVI credit card, which applies video calls in the electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) process – the latest banking technology.

With this new registration process, customers can open credit accounts 100 per cent online via Octo app by CIMB from both Android and iOS platforms. Instead of the traditional face-to-face one, the account opening process takes only four steps and can be done within five minutes. Customers will receive verification results within two minutes.

Without going to a branch while ensuring security standards, the staff will video call directly with the owner to verify the information. After completing the registration procedure, a physical card will be delivered to customers after 3-5 days for activation and use.

CIMB has also introduced various promotions for customers opening the REVI credit card.

The difference of CIMB REVI credit card is to apply the same balance interest rate until customers finish paying for their credit balance, instead of using the latest interest rate as per traditional credit cards. For online shopping transactions or spending in stores, interest rates start to count after the date of establishment of the statement and based on unpaid credit balance which means that clients have more than 1-month benefit compared to the traditional way which uses the transaction date to calculate.

“Along with the launch of REVI credit card, CIMB wishes to meet customers’ consumption needs quickly, conveniently and immediately. This would contribute to promoting non-cash payments which the Government and the State Bank of Viet Nam are encouraging to apply,” a CIMB representative said.

With innovative products and new technology applications, CIMB Bank has received three prestigious awards including international digital banking awards in 2021 from Global Banking and Finance Review, International Finance, and RBI Asia Trailblazers.

CIMB Vietnam is a member of CIMB Group – one of the largest banking groups in ASEAN in the digital technology category in safety, security, utility, and speed. CIMB Bank Vietnam had its first branch presence in 2016, since then, CIMB has branches in Ha Noi and HCM City with more than 37,000 employees, providing services for millions of Vietnamese and international customers. — VNS
