DIFF to shine through Metal Night

Following the success of Earth Night, Metal Night is set to take place on May 27, as part of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2017 (DIFF 2017).

It will include performances by two teams from China and the United Kingdom and music by well-known artists, both from home and abroad.

Earth Night – Deep impressions

“Brilliant display this year!” was the unanimous reaction to the stupendous show of light and artistry during Earth Night last week.

Impressive from the first shot, the Japanese Tamaya Kitahara Fireworks team took the audience by storm, lifting them from loving sensations to energising movements to the beats of music, followed by the brilliance of fireworks.

The team ended their performance with golden rays over the Hàn River amid thundering applause from the audience. “Indescribable, simply wonderful, just what I expected from Japan; I was thoroughly engrossed in the music, its emotions, and I enjoyed every single moment of their show,” said Nguyễn Thị Thuý Liên, a spectator from Hà Nội.

When it was the Swiss team’s turn to rule the stage, all grandstands broke loose with excitement. From music to colours and shapes, the Sugyp SA team from Switzerland enthralled even the connoisseur amongst the viewers. Fireworks of all brilliant shapes and sizes combined with thrilling music wowed the audience, as the team from the land of watches and clocks showcased their 50 years of experience and expertise.

Intermissions were provided with bewildering performances from both Vietnamese and Swiss artists.

Kasim Hoàng Vũ from Việt Nam jazzed up the stage with a new remix of the upbeat “Fairland Đà Nẵng” (Đà Nẵng nàng tiên), while Phương Anh and her song “Soul of the Clay” (Hồn Đất) gave the audience an authentic feel of traditional pottery. Meanwhile, Swiss musicians tooted on their alpine horns and waved their flags superbly, leaving an unforgettable mark of European culture on the audience.

The grandiose and the uplifting fireworks were a success on Earth Night, as audiences now look forward to the Metal Night.

Metal Night – A world of wonders

The third night out of the five consecutive weekly firework shows is a feast of light, carefully crafted and masterly delivered by prolific artists, which will surely keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

First up is LiuYang Dancing Fireworks, former champion of the first DIFF in 2009. Established in 1995, the company had participated in numerous world class firework performances, including the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo in China. At the DIFF 2012, LiuYang Dancing Fireworks came in second place, and this year, the audiences expect the A team from China to create yet another miracle at the DIFF 2017.

Next on the list is a representative from the United Kingdom, Pyrotex Fireworx. Since 1999, Fireworx has been one of the UK’s top family-run firework companies. Their performances are full of colours, special effects and perfect timing, sure to give surprises and excitement to viewers. The UK team said they were ready for an impressive show in Đà Nẵng this year.

Yet another question remains as to which music performers will be on Metal Night’s stage, as each night is reserved for a different revelation. The musical number this time is certain to keep the audience dancing through the night.  Vietnamese singer Đông Nhi, the girl on the block, will charm her listeners with bedazzling choreography, sensational high notes with the trio Mashup Boom Boom - Shake The Rhythm - Love Me Too, certain to shine through Metal Night.

The metallic theme will be reinforced with an exotic gong performance by 35 artists from Đắk Lắk and thousands of supporting actors. Another unforgettable note will be the Beijing opera performed by the Chunking Opera Company.

DIFF 2017 includes five fireworks performances from eight international teams from the United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, Japan, China and Việt Nam. The five nights are named Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, which was held from April 29 until May 20, and will continue on May 27, and then from June 3 through June 24, 2017.

Along with the fireworks performances, other attractive events taking place concurrently at the DIF 2017 are the Chăm culture festival, sculpture festival, “Marble” International Cuisine Festival, beer festival and street carnivals.

With such excellent programmes on a phenomenal scale, the DIFF 2017 is expected to attract about two million visitors to Đà Nẵng during its two months. Audiences worldwide can get ready to be waltzed into a sparkling Metal Night this Saturday, May 27.
